Our wonderful students and residents from Widnes Hall Care Home have enjoyed a superb Christmas Party together.
Performance Leaders hosted 19 friends from Widnes Hall who were treated to an afternoon of fun and laughter with Afternoon Tea, Christmas Pass the Parcel, Christmas Bingo, as well as a Carol Service with the school’s choir which was wonderful. Santa was in attendance, of course! At the end of the afternoon, residents were presented with Christmas Cards which included a personal letter from our Year 7 English students.
Wade Deacon enjoys very close links with Widnes Hall following the visit earlier in the year of Edith Fildes, a former pupil and teacher at Wade Deacon. In the new year, our students will be making regular visits to the home and will lead workshops and activities which they are looking forward to so much.
Angie Taker, from Widnes Hall was full of praise for everyone involved: ‘Our residents enjoyed the day so much and have not stopped talking about it since! They love working with young people and it was so emotional to see everyone getting on so well. We know that our close connections with the youngsters at Wade Deacon will have tremendous benefits for our residents and we can’t wait to welcome them all to Widnes Hall in the New Year.’
