Key Stage 3 Curriculum

Our Key Stage 3 Curriculum

At Wade Deacon, our Key Stage 3 curriculum is designed to provide a broad, inclusive, and ambitious foundation that sparks a love for learning and prepares students for the next steps in their education. We are committed to delivering a curriculum that caters to each student’s unique abilities, interests, and needs, ensuring they gain the knowledge, skills, and resilience to succeed. Through powerful knowledge, we take students on a journey, opening up new perspectives and inspiring a lifelong passion for learning.

Throughout Years 7 to 9, students engage in a core curriculum that promotes academic and personal growth, with subjects that encourage exploration, critical thinking, and creativity. During this stage, we also help students to identify their strengths, passions, and aspirations, which will guide them in making informed choices for their future studies. As they approach the Year 9 Options process, students have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of subjects that align with their goals, preparing them for a variety of pathways in Key Stage 4 and beyond.

This carefully structured curriculum enables every student to:

  • Develop a strong academic foundation and essential life skills that will benefit them in later studies and careers
  • Explore a balanced mix of academic and creative subjects, building confidence and adaptability
  • Make informed choices about their education through consultation with parents, carers, teachers, and the Senior Leadership Team

Our goal is to foster a learning environment where each student feels valued and supported in reaching their full potential, empowering them to thrive both academically and personally.
