Free School Meals

From September 2026, all children from households receiving Universal Credit may be eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of household income. This change could provide significant financial support to families, with savings of up to £570 per year per child on school meal costs.

Please note that Free School Meals are not awarded automatically. Parents and carers must submit an application through their local authority.

You can apply using the links below:

  • Halton:https://cyp.halton.gov.uk/Synergy/Live/SynergyWeb/FreeSchoolMeals.aspx

  • Liverpool:https://liverpool.gov.uk/benefits/free-school-meals/
  • St Helens:https://parentportal.sthelens.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/parents/travel-and-free-school-meals

Once eligibility has been confirmed by the relevant local authority, the school will update its records and your child will begin receiving Free School Meals.
