Prospective parents, carers and pupils currently in Year 6 are invited to visit the school and get a glimpse of the Wade Deacon experience.
In the interests of visitors, staff and students we will limit number of guests on site to 800 per tour. We regret that we cannot accommodate parties of more than three guests (including children)at a time in order to maximise the number of families who are able to visit. (Note: If the child considering applying to Wade Deacon is in attendance they should be included as one of the three guests.)
Unfortunately we cannot admit visitors who have not reserved a place.
We look forward to welcoming you!
We will run three one-hour sessions: 4:30pm – 5:30pm; 5:30pm – 6:30pm and 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
A maximum of 800 visitors can reserve a place for the event.
Families are limited to three guests – this includes your child who is in Year 6 as well as any other children who you may wish to bring.
We kindly ask that families don’t reserve a space if their child is in Year 5 or Year 4.
If you do not reserve a space, you will not be able to attend the session if all spaces have been filled.
If we do not contact you once you have reserved a space, this means that you have been successful in securing your visit. We will contact any families who book on once all spaces are filled to look at alternative arrangements that can be made for you to visit the school.
You will only be permitted to book on to one session; we will contact you if multiple bookings have been made.
Depending on the time reserved, please arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before your allocated time.
If you arrive late, you will need to leave site once the hour session you are booked onto is over.
You can only attend the session you have indicated so please ensure you arrive for the correct time.
Where possible, please consider walking to the school so that we can provide parking for those families who need it. If you are parking in the local area, please be respectful of our school neighbours.
When you arrive, you will be asked to sign in and will be given a coloured wrist band. You should arrive at the entrance to our Main Reception area where there will be staff and students available to talk to. They will direct you to the signing in desks.
We recommend the use of a face covering whilst walking around the school and talking to students and staff.
You are free to visit any area of the school by using the map and information you will be given; be mindful that the school is big so we advise that you don’t stay for too long in one area as this may limit what you can see in the allocated time!
To maximise safety, there are lots of rooms open in each subject area – please don’t be offended if staff and students ask you to move to another room.
If you have questions relating to a particular subject, curriculum specialists will be available in the Main Hall to answer these.
If you have specific questions about Admissions, SEND or any pastoral concerns, particular rooms have been signposted so that you can speak with staff about any worries you may have. You will find where these are based in the information given on the evening.
10 minutes before the end of your session, a bell will sound. We will ask all visitors to make their way to the restaurant where refreshments will be served. This is to allow us to clear the school ready for the next session.
All visitors will leave via the Conservatory doors. We kindly ask that families leave the site straight away as other families are arriving.
If you have any questions, submit these by scanning the QR code in the booklet given. We will get back to you as soon as we can following the event.
