What an incredible day of learning, reflection, and real-life conversations here at Wade Deacon High on Wednesday!
Here’s a glimpse at how each year group got involved:
Year 7 explored mental health support through a KOOTH assembly, tackled bullying with confidence, and finished the day with calming mindfulness and powerful student voice sessions.
Year 8 took on some serious topics with maturity – from a hard-hitting assembly with PC Molyneaux to honest discussions on knife crime and personal safety. They showed real strength and insight. 💬
Year 9 brought energy and emotion to the ALTRU drama workshop, engaged with lessons on eating disorders, and opened up about anxiety and wellbeing with care and honesty.
Year 10 dove into mental health through the Silent Emergency documentary, reflected on wellbeing, and had real-talk about relationships and choices. Thoughtful, mature, and inspiring!
Across all year groups, student voice feedback was a standout – our students felt heard, supported, and empowered to speak up on the issues that matter.
A huge thank you to Ms. Harrison and Mr. Tyrer for organising such an insightful and well-structured day – your planning and care made it all possible!
And of course, thank you to our fantastic staff and students who brought energy, honesty, and heart to every session.
