Celebrating the Class of 2026

We are delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding GCSE results, with pupils achieving success right across the curriculum. These outcomes reflect the hard work, determination and resilience of our young people, supported by dedicated staff and families who have worked alongside them throughout their journey.

This year's results continue a strong pattern of success and demonstrate the high aspirations that define Wade Deacon High School. Pupils have excelled across a wide range of subjects and we are incredibly proud of all that they have all achieved. Over three quarters of all grades awarded were a grade 4 or above, with nearly two thirds of all entries awarded a Grade 5 or above.

This reflects the tremendous work of pupils and staff and ensures pupils have the best opportunity to progress to the next level of education or training.

On an individual level, we are extremely proud of two of our pupils who have achieved the exceptional accolade of a full suite of Grade 9s which is truly incredible achievement. Additionally, we had a further six pupils who achieved eight Grade 9s: a remarkable achievement.

We are particularly pleased for those pupils who have secured the grades they need to progress to the next stage of their education.  Their achievements reflect both their individual commitment and our culture of ambition. We are equally proud of the progress and attainment of our disadvantaged pupils. Ensuring that background is never a barrier to achievement remains central to our Commitment to Excellence and our results highlight the positive impact of sustained support, high expectations and unwavering belief in every child's potential.

Today is also an opportunity to recognise the achievements of our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Many have overcome significant challenges to achieve personal and academic success, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and determination. Their accomplishments are a source of great pride and reflect our commitment to providing an inclusive education where every young person can thrive.

While examination results are important, they tell only part of the story. Behind every grade is a young person who has developed confidence, character and resilience. We celebrate not only academic success, but also the personal growth that prepares our pupils for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

I would like to thank our staff for their unwavering dedication and expertise, and our parents and carers for their continued support. Most importantly, I congratulate our pupils, whose efforts have made today possible. These results build on years of continued success and demonstrate what can be achieved when ambition, hard work and opportunity come together.
