Geography

Curriculum Aims

Our students will learn essential knowledge about our planet and the populations who live on it to allow them to become truly engaged global citizens who understand the issues of our times. Our students will be inspired through studying the physical and human environments which engulf them at a local and global scale. The key Geographical skills that run across the subject will always be identified as transferrable and applicable to a number of career options and generic ‘skills for life.’ Geography helps students build cultural capital to develop a sense of pride in their local community and excel in the wider world. Students will develop embedded knowledge about the processes that lead to the formation of the physical features of our planet and develop the ability to interpret a wide range of information, preparing them to make decisions which will impact on all our lives.
