What an extraordinary achievement for our school community — and what a lasting legacy from our amazing Class of 2025! Our Year 11 students have raised a phenomenal £1,111 for The Brain Tumour Charity, following their unforgettable Charity Match Showdown last summer.
It was a sun-soaked afternoon full of excitement, teamwork, and school spirit, as Maybury’s Mavericks and Harrison’s Hurricanes went head-to-head in a match that had everything — dazzling goals, dramatic saves, and non-stop energy from start to finish!
With the legendary Mr Campbell providing electrifying live commentary, the atmosphere was nothing short of spectacular. The cheers from the crowd could be heard across the school grounds as both teams gave it their all in a true celebration of friendship and community.
After a tense 4–4 draw at full time, the match went to a thrilling penalty shootout — and it was Harrison’s Hurricanes who claimed victory in dramatic fashion!
But beyond the scoreline, this event was about something much greater. It was a day to remember and honour Kian and Bobby, two cherished members of our Wade Deacon family. Their spirit and courage continue to inspire us all, and their memory was felt deeply throughout the day.
This week, we were delighted to welcome Lily from The Brain Tumour Charity to Wade Deacon, who proudly accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity — marking a truly special and heartfelt moment for everyone involved.
To our wonderful Year 11 Class of 2025 — thank you for showing such kindness, leadership, and compassion. You’ve demonstrated the very best of the Wade Deacon spirit, and we couldn’t be prouder.
A huge thank you also goes to all the staff, students, and supporters who made this event possible — your enthusiasm and generosity have made a real difference.
Forever in our hearts. Forever part of our story.
