We're marking a very special day at Wade Deacon High with a full schedule of exciting events to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day!
VE Day marks the end of World War II in Europe — a moment of peace, relief, and celebration after years of hardship and sacrifice. It reminds us of the courage, unity, and resilience shown by those who lived through the war.
Here’s what’s happening on the day:
Pupils are encouraged to wear Union Jack themed clothing (e.g. socks, tie, jumper) with a £1 charity donation.
Keep an eye out for staff in fabulous 1940s fancy dress!
Pupils will be welcomed by our amazing Wade Deacon Air, Sea, and Army Cadets.
Our choir will perform classic wartime songs from the original VE Day era.
Pupils will learn all about VE Day and its importance in history.
Lunch? A full VE Day Street Party with a 1945-inspired menu!
It’s going to be a wonderful day of remembrance, learning, and celebration. We can't wait to share this special occasion with our school community!
