Remembering David Findon

It is with great sadness that we must inform you that David Findon, a founding Member at the Wade Deacon Trust, has sadly passed away.

David was devoted to school governance in Widnes, giving decades of unwavering service to the young people of his community.

Throughout his years of commitment, he worked tirelessly to seek out the very best opportunities for pupils in his town, always championing their potential and advocating for their futures.

His deep passion for education was evident in everything he did, firmly believing that every child deserves the right to a high-quality education, regardless of their background.

His legacy will live on in the countless lives he helped shape, and in the continued pursuit of excellence within the schools he cared for so deeply.

It is a testament to David’s character and unrivalled passion for the quality of education that only a few days before his passing, David was in the Wade Deacon Trust building holding senior Trust leaders to account in his typical spirit of honest, candid rigour that he was so widely respected for.

When it came to the Wade Deacon Trust, David’s purpose could not have been any clearer.

He was wholeheartedly and unflinchingly committed to ensuring every single one of our pupils received the best possible opportunities to succeed with the best possible outcomes.

As a founding Member who made a huge contribution throughout his dedicated period of service spanning several decades years, David’s legacy in the Wade Deacon Trust family is firmly cemented.

His passing is a huge loss for us all, and we are very much thinking of his family and loved ones at this deeply sad time.
